How to build a chore chart that sticks
A chore chart works because it makes responsibility visible. The chores run down the side, the days run across the top, and a child checks the box each day they finish a task. Seeing the row fill in is its own small reward, and an empty box is a gentle, no-nagging reminder that something still needs doing. Keep the list short and specific: make bed beats be responsible, and feed the dog beats help out.
For younger kids, five or six picture-simple chores work best, and it helps to mix in easy wins like brush teeth alongside a real job like tidy room. For a family, add a Who column so more than one child shares the same chart, or print one chart per child. Laminating the chart, or slipping it into a plastic sleeve, lets everyone tick boxes with a dry-erase marker and start fresh each week.

Choose a full seven-day week for chores that happen every day, or weekdays only if weekends run on different rules. The chart is plain black on white so it photocopies cleanly and pins to the fridge. Print at 100 percent scale for the largest checkboxes.
