Why dot grid instead of lines or squares
Dot grid paper marks only the grid intersections with small dots rather than drawing full lines. That gives you the structure of graph paper, straight rows, even columns, consistent spacing, without the heavy printed lines that box in your writing or show up behind a finished drawing. It is the reason dot grid became the default for bullet journaling: the dots guide your layout, then disappear into the background once the page is filled.
