The budget-priced tool that beats a bottle of drain cleaner. It's a barbed plastic stick you slide in to pull the hair clog right out, usually clears a slow drain in about two minutes.
Before buying anything, try a drain snake / hair clog remover. It's like a budget plastic stick kit with little barbs that grab the hair and pull it out. It works way better than chemicals for hair clogs, and you'll probably have it cleared in about two minutes.
Nine times out of ten with hair, the clog is right near the top of the drain, so the snake will do the trick without you ever reaching for a caustic bottle.
Start with the snake, most hair clogs are near the top, and it removes the hair instead of just dissolving part of it.
Not far, it's for clogs near the drain opening, which is where hair clogs usually sit.
