Why not a regular tripod
For desk use you don't need a full tripod, you need a desktop stand or a GorillaPod. Regular tripods are way too tall for a desk and just get in the way.
I use the GorillaPod on my desk and it's perfect. The flexible legs let you get the exact height and angle you need, and you can wrap them around a shelf edge or pole if you want to mount it somewhere. It works with most cameras, and with the clamp it holds phones too.
