The mistake that taught me this
When we first moved in I used a Bar Keepers Friend type thing on my quartz counters and got a dull spot near the sink that still bugs me two years later. Quartz looks like granite but it's not, the resin in it hates anything acidic or abrasive.
For daily stuff, boring wins: warm water, a drop of dish soap, a microfiber cloth. When I want a little more muscle, I use Method Daily Granite. It says granite but it's pH-neutral and safe on quartz and marble too. Skip anything with vinegar, lemon, bleach, or "scrub" in the name.
