What is music staff paper?
Staff paper, also called manuscript paper, is ruled with sets of five horizontal lines, each set being a staff on which notes are written. The vertical position of a note on the five lines and four spaces sets its pitch. This generator prints clean staff paper in the format you need, whether that is plain five-line staves for any instrument, a treble or bass clef staff, or a grand staff that braces the two together for piano.
Because it prints to true scale, the staves are a comfortable size to write on by hand. Fewer systems per page gives you larger, roomier staves; more per page fits a longer piece.
Choosing a format
Use blank five-line staves for melody sketching, single-line instruments, or when you will add your own clef. Pick treble or bass for a specific voice, and the grand staff for keyboard music, where the right hand reads treble and the left reads bass. A grand staff takes the vertical room of two staves plus a connecting brace, so plan on fitting fewer per page.
