The short version: Some links to retailers and manufacturers are affiliate links. UsedItFirst may earn a commission from a qualifying purchase, at no added cost to you. UsedItFirst is also a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
What affiliate links are
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission from the retailer. This comes out of the retailer's margin, it never costs you anything extra, and the price you pay is exactly the same as it would be otherwise.
In addition to Amazon, the site may link to direct-to-consumer manufacturer programs, including solar and portable-power merchants. Commercial links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code and are disclosed near buying sections. A merchant may be shown before affiliate tracking is active when its official product information is useful to the reader.
It does not change what I recommend
UsedItFirst publishes both hands-on reviews and research-backed buying guides, and every page identifies which kind of coverage it is. Whether a product has an affiliate link, and whether the commission would be large or small, has no influence on the conclusion. I am not paid by a brand to produce a favorable verdict, and no manufacturer reviews or approves editorial content before it is published.
About the scores and ratings
Any score you see on this site (for example, an "8.8 / 10, our verdict") is my own editorial opinion based on hands-on use. Research-only pages do not receive a hands-on score and do not claim first-hand testing. Scores are not Amazon customer ratings, star averages or review counts. Where a product's price is mentioned, it is dated or approximate; always confirm the current merchant price and availability before buying.
