The Best Epoxy Resin for Tumblers

8.6/10 Our verdictHands-on tested, not gifted

The epoxy that cures clear without the craters. On tumblers I've had zero fish-eye issues, it self-levels and doesn't pit like the cheaper resins do.

Why the cheap resin fails on tumblers

I've been using ArtResin for tumblers and haven't had fish-eye issues at all. It's self-leveling and doesn't get those little craters that some of the cheaper epoxies leave behind, and it cures clear.

That said, a lot of tumbler problems come down to surface prep and humidity, not just the resin, so control those too. But some brands really are just garbage for tumblers, and ArtResin has been the consistent one for me.

What I liked

  • Self-levels for a smooth coat
  • No fish-eyes or craters in my use
  • Cures crystal clear
  • Low-odor and non-toxic used as directed

What to know

  • Costs more than bargain epoxies
  • Still needs good surface prep
  • Humidity affects any resin
  • 1:1 mixing must be precise

Common questions

Why does my epoxy get craters or fish-eyes?

Often a cheaper resin, or surface prep/humidity. ArtResin self-levels and cured clean for me on tumblers.

Is it beginner-friendly?

Yes, 1:1 mix ratio, self-leveling, low-odor. Just measure precisely and mind the humidity.
