The rugged GMRS radio for the backcountry, waterproof, earpiece jack, better range than a Rocky Talkie and way cheaper at around $60-70. The tougher pick for hunting.
The BTECH GMRS-V1 is solid for the backcountry, waterproof, has an earpiece jack, and it's way cheaper than a Rocky Talkie at around $60-70, with better range and more features. For hunting it's the better pick: more rugged, and the battery lasts longer in cold weather.
The Baofeng UV-5X is another option for like $30 and it also has an earpiece jack, but it's just not as durable. If you want something that'll take a beating in the field, the BTECH is the tougher choice. (BTECH now ships this as the updated GMRS-V2, same rugged radio.)
The BTECH is cheaper (~$60-70), waterproof, and has better range and features. Rocky Talkie is simpler but pricier.
The Baofeng UV-5X (~$30) works and has an earpiece jack, but it's less durable than the BTECH.
