Duxtop 9600LS Induction Cooktop

8.9/10 Our verdictHands-on tested · not gifted

Around $100 and rock solid. Two years in — it heats fast, the temp control is accurate, and none of the overheat-and-shut-off nonsense of the $30 ones. Don't go cheaper than this.

Why not go cheaper

The Duxtop 9600LS is around $100 and solid. I've used mine for about two years — it heats fast and the temperature control is genuinely accurate. It's way better than the $30 Amazon burners that overheat and shut off randomly mid-cook. Don't go cheaper than this or you'll end up with one that barely works.

The pricier induction units are nice, but they're overkill if you just need a reliable backup or single burner. This hits the sweet spot.

What I liked

  • Heats fast and evenly
  • Accurate, responsive temp control
  • Two years of reliable use
  • Great value at ~$100

What to know

  • Needs induction-compatible cookware
  • Fan noise while running
  • Single burner
  • Fancier units exist if you want more

Common questions

Is it better than the cheap $30 induction burners?

By a lot — the cheap ones overheat and shut off randomly. This one holds temp reliably.

Do I need a pricier model?

Not for a backup or single burner — this is the sweet spot.
