Generate a unique, printable maze at the size and difficulty you choose. Every maze has exactly one path from the green start to the red finish. Click for a new one, tick the box to reveal the solution, and print or download it, free and with no sign-up.
Every maze is unique with exactly one solution, from the green start (top-left) to the red finish (bottom-right). Click New maze for another, tick Show solution to reveal the path, and print at 100%.
How the maze generator works
Each maze is built with a randomized depth-first algorithm (a recursive backtracker). Starting from the top-left cell, it carves a path to a random unvisited neighbor, keeps going until it hits a dead end, then backs up and branches off somewhere new, until every cell has been reached. The result is what puzzle makers call a perfect maze: every cell is connected, there are no loops or closed-off sections, and there is exactly one path from the start to the finish. Because the choices are random, you get a brand-new maze every time you click New maze.
Choosing a difficulty
Difficulty here is really about size. A 12 by 12 grid is quick and good for young children; 18 by 18 is a satisfying medium; and the 26 by 26 and 36 by 36 grids make genuinely tricky puzzles with long, winding dead ends. Bigger mazes have more decision points and longer solution paths, which is what makes them harder. If you get stuck, tick Show solution to trace the single correct route in red.
Printing and using it
Print at 100 percent for a clean full-page maze, or download the SVG to keep a sharp copy, resize it, or drop it into a worksheet or activity pack. Mazes are a favorite for classroom activities and sub folders, quiet-time and screen-free play, party and holiday activity sheets, and fine-motor and problem-solving practice for kids. Print a stack at different sizes for a ready-made activity book.

Frequently asked questions
Does every maze have a solution?
Yes. Each maze is a perfect maze, meaning every cell is connected and there is exactly one path from the green start to the red finish, with no loops or closed-off areas. Tick Show solution to see it.
Are the mazes always different?
Yes. The generator makes random choices as it carves the maze, so clicking New maze produces a brand-new, unique layout every time.
How do I make the maze harder or easier?
Change the size. A 12 by 12 grid is easy and good for young kids; 26 by 26 and 36 by 36 are much harder because they have more branches, dead ends, and a longer solution path.
Can I print or download the maze?
Yes. Print at 100 percent for a full-page maze, or use Download SVG to save a sharp file you can resize or add to a worksheet or activity pack.
