OXO Good Grips Adjustable Shaker

8.7/10 Our verdictHands-on tested, not gifted

The one shaker that handles flakes and fine spice. Twist the top for big holes, small holes, or fully closed, so a single shaker covers chili flakes, salt, and everything-bagel seasoning.

Why one adjustable shaker replaced three

I had a drawer of single-purpose shakers, one for flakes, one for fine stuff, and none that sealed. This OXO has a twist top that picks large holes, small holes, or closed, so the same shaker does chili flakes at dinner and fine seasoning the next morning.

The clear body means I can see when it's low, and the top pops off to refill and goes in the dishwasher. Very fine powders like powdered sugar can clog the small holes, so I keep those in something else, but for everyday flakes and seasoning it's the one I reach for.

What I liked

  • Twist top selects flakes, fine, or fully closed
  • Clear body shows the level
  • Top removes for easy refills and dishwasher
  • One shaker replaces several

What to know

  • Very fine powders can clog the small holes
  • Plastic body, not glass
  • Closed setting can still seep fine powder
  • Only holds 8 oz

Common questions

Can one shaker really do flakes and fine spices?

Yes, that's the point. The twist top switches between large holes, small holes, and closed, so it handles chili flakes and fine seasoning both.

Does it clog?

Coarse flakes and normal seasoning are fine. Very fine powders like powdered sugar can clog the small-hole setting.
