Paste your script, press start, and read to camera at your own pace. Adjust the scroll speed, font size, and column width live, flip on mirror mode for a beam-splitter rig, and drive everything from your keyboard or a cheap Bluetooth remote. Nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up, so your script stays in your browser.

How to use the teleprompter
- Paste your script into the box. It stays on your device and is saved in your browser, so it is still there next time you come back.
- Set your look. Drag the speed, font size, and width sliders, pick a color theme, and choose a countdown. Turn on Mirror if you are shooting through a beam-splitter teleprompter.
- Press Start. The text fills the screen and scrolls past a fixed eye-line marker. Nudge the speed up or down on the fly and read straight into the lens.
Mirror mode and beam-splitter rigs
A hardware teleprompter puts a piece of angled 70/30 glass directly in front of your lens. Your phone or tablet lies flat below it and its screen reflects up onto the glass, so you read the words while looking straight down the barrel of the camera. That reflection flips the text left-to-right, which is why teleprompter apps have a mirror setting: turn on Mirror (flip horizontal) here and the reflection in the glass reads the right way round. If your rig mounts the device above the glass instead of below, use Flip vertical as well. If you are just reading off a laptop or a second monitor with no glass, leave both off.
Keyboard and remote controls
- Space - play or pause
- Up / Down arrow (or + / -) - scroll faster or slower
- R - restart from the top
- Esc - exit
- F - re-enter full screen
Most inexpensive Bluetooth "camera remotes" and presentation clickers register as a keyboard and send arrow-key or page-up/page-down presses, so they will speed up, slow down, and pause the scroll from across the room with no setup. That lets you control the read from behind your camera without touching anything.
Tips for a natural read
- Turn your phone or tablet brightness all the way up. Reflected teleprompter text washes out under lights if the screen is dim.
- Match the scroll speed to how you actually talk, then leave your hand on the remote to slow down when you emphasize a point.
- Keep lines short and write the way you speak. A wider column and a large font mean fewer eye movements, so you look more locked onto the lens.
- Do one practice pass to set the speed, then record. The countdown gives you a beat to settle before the first line arrives.

Frequently asked questions
Is this online teleprompter really free?
Yes. It is completely free with no sign-up, no account, and no watermark. Every control, including mirror mode, speed, font size, and the countdown, is available with nothing held back.
Do I need to download an app?
No. It runs in your web browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. There is nothing to install and no extension to add.
How does mirror mode work with a beam-splitter teleprompter?
A beam-splitter teleprompter reflects your screen onto angled glass in front of the lens, which flips the text left-to-right. Turning on Mirror (flip horizontal) pre-flips the text so it reads correctly in the reflection. If your device sits above the glass, also turn on Flip vertical.
Can I use it on my phone or tablet?
Yes. It is built to work on a phone or tablet, which is exactly the screen most people mount in a teleprompter. Tap the screen to pause or show the controls, and use the on-screen speed buttons.
How do I control the scroll speed while I am filming?
Use the on-screen Slower and Faster buttons, or the up and down arrow keys. Most cheap Bluetooth camera remotes send arrow-key presses, so they can pause and change speed from behind the camera with no setup.
Is my script uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. Your script never leaves your device. It is saved only in your browser's local storage so it is there next time, and you can clear it any time with the Clear button.
