A weekly layout, with a block for each day, is best when you are juggling appointments and tasks across the whole week and want to see it all at a glance. It is the classic fridge-or-binder planner. A daily hourly schedule is better when a single day is busy and you need to slot things into specific times, like a work day full of meetings or a day of back-to-back errands.
